Like its sister model SH570R8, the Shuttle XPC Barebone SW580R8 supports 10th/11th generation Intel Core processors, four large 3.5" hard disks with Raid function, 128 GB DDR4-3200 RAM and dual-slot graphics cards. In addition, the SW580R8 also accepts Xeon W-series processors featuring ECC and vPro for more system stability and remote management options. It also offers four network ports for the first time (two of them with 2.5 GBit/s), a second M.2 slot for SSD cards and a TPM security chip. Such impressive performance and range of features in an aluminum chassis with a volume of only 14 liters makes SW580R8 the ideal platform for demanding mini-server and workstation PCs with top reliability even under heavy load.

Space for fast dual-slot graphics cards

Often it is only the really big graphics cards that provide the performance you need. This XPC offers plenty of space in most cases. The dual-slot graphics cards which are suitable for this model can be up to 280 mm long, 120 mm high × 40 mm wide.

Ingenious cooling system

To guarantee reliable operation even when under a high load, this model combines two cooling methods. A heat pipe dissipates the waste heat from the processor on the chassis and its large fan produces a constant airflow through the inside of the chassis.

Heat-pipe cooling system

The processor emits its waste heat to the copper element of the heat-pipe cooling element, which causes the tubes to heat up and the heat to be transported towards the cooling fins. The housing fan pushes air through the fins, thus cooling them down.

Clever airflow channelling

The controlled fan sucks in fresh air through generous openings on the sides of the cover and beneath the chassis. On the way out, this air flows past drives, components and important parts which are cooled in the process.

Three 4K-capable monitor connections

Two DisplayPort connectors and one HDMI 2.0 port* enable high-resolution multi-monitor workstations and therefore make it possible to display large amounts of information that can be viewed at a glance.

Suitable for error-correcting RAM

In critical areas of business and research, downtimes should be avoided at all costs. The use of ECC memory modules can reduce crashes and provide a much higher level of system stability. With four slots and therefore 128 GB of ECC RAM in total, this Mini-PC can handle any task.

Three expansion options via M.2 module

Three M.2 slots make it possible to add data mediums and additional modules, for example for wireless LAN or cellular modem. Thanks to the PCI Express connection, large quantities of data can be transported in a short time via the M.2 slot.

Wired remote starting

This model features a remote power-on connection. Any two-pin cable can be used to connect dedicated buttons via pins on the back and they then allow the machine to be started remotely.

Up to four 3.5" drives

Dozens of terabytes of memory capacity: The internal frame of this model provides space for up to four hard drives in a 3.5" format. The appropriate slots for a 2.5" SSD are also already provided. However, further SSDs with a 2.5" format require an installation frame.

Thermal safety for data mediums

As the R8 chassis can accommodate an unusually large number of hard drives, another large fan inside generates a constant airflow which prevents any build-up of heat between the data mediums.

Theft protection

The Kensington security slot on the side of the chassis (also referred to as a K slot or Kensington lock) provides protection from theft. Suitable security solutions are available in different versions from commercial stockists.
