Fanless Mini-PC Barebones in four power levels

The 10th generation of the mobile Intel Core processors impresses with their high performance, low energy consumption and minimal heat build-up. Integrated in Shuttle's fanless DS20 models, they are able to display their strengths particularly well.

Elmshorn, Germany, 2022-02-10 – Shuttle's fanless Barebones in a 1.3-litre format are now available in their sixth model generation. Each successor is based on a modern Intel processor platform and always delivers new, ingenious features as well as more memory, speed and ports.

  • Wide performance range, from the Intel Celeron to Core i7
  • Up to 64 GB of DDR4 RAM
  • Dual-Gigabit, WLAN-ready, 4G option

There is already a long tradition of fanless Mini-PCs at Shuttle. This product group has lots of positive features, which is why it enjoys a very high level of acceptance in many different areas of application. Silent operation, low maintenance costs and reliable constant operation really can deliver benefits anywhere.

The Mini-PC Barebones from the "XPC slim" family which are presented here, feature soldered Intel Core processors of the 10th generation and are available in four versions. The version with the Intel Celeron processor is usually sufficient for simple tasks; Intel Core i3 or i5 is the preferred choice for more demanding applications or server facilities. If you work in the creative sphere and work a lot with high-resolution media or large quantities of data, you should opt for the model with the particularly high-performance Core i7 processor and its eight threads.

"For around 12 years now, fanless PCs have been an established part of the Shuttle range," explains Tom Seiffert, Head of Marketing & PR at Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH. "Each new fanless model benefits from this wealth of experience and the valuable feedback provided by users."

The 39 mm chassis on all versions can accommodate a 2.5" drive, an NVMe SSD and up to 64 GB of RAM. The way the components are fitted is particularly convenient. You can access all slots and drives via two covers which are secured by a screw.

Also easily accessible across the front and back are a card reader, 8× USB, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, VGA, audio ports, COM, two network connections, antenna sockets and remote power-on.

Networking applications benefit from two Gigabit Ethernet connectors to deliver separate networks, failover or load balancing. Thanks to premounted antenna cables, expansion with WLAN is easily possible. Mobile connections to the mobile network can be established via a 4G modem, for which Shuttle offers the appropriate accessory.

Like their predecessors, the DS20 models can be operated in many different positions. Shuttle's range of accessories also offers additional installation options, such as a DIN-Rail mounting kit or an installation frame for 19" racks.
