Silent performance meets 2.5 Gbit connectivity: Shuttle presents the new XPC Barebone DL40N

With the DL40N, Shuttle introduces the fanless successor to the tried-and-tested DL30N. Equipped with the efficient ‘Twin Lake-N’ platform, DDR5 support and dual 2.5 Gbit LAN, the 1.35-litre system sets new standards for modern network infrastructures and reliable 24/7 continuous operation.

In the world of compact business PCs, Shuttle’s DL series has been a mainstay for years. With the new Shuttle XPC Barebone DL40N, we are opening the next chapter for small form factor solutions. As a direct evolution of our best-selling DL30N, the system delivers precisely the upgrades demanded by modern IT projects in industry, retail and the office sector today: greater bandwidth, modern memory standards and absolute reliability.

Efficiency thanks to Intel “Twin Lake-N” and DDR5

At the heart of the DL40N is the Intel N150 processor (4 cores, up to 3.6 GHz Turbo). This architecture offers the ideal balance between computing power and an extremely low thermal design power (TDP) of just 6 watts. For the first time in this class, the system supports DDR5-4800 RAM (up to 16 GB), enabling a leap in performance for data processing.

Thanks to passive cooling, the system operates completely silently when combined with an SSD and is virtually maintenance-free, as there are no moving parts to wear out and no dust is sucked into the chassis.

Maximum connectivity: 2.5 Gbit LAN and 8× USB

A key highlight for system integrators is the network connectivity: the DL40N features two Intel 2.5 Gbps LAN ports (i226-LM). This means the system not only offers high data rates for modern infrastructures, but also the necessary redundancy for critical client/server applications.

With a total of eight USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports (4× front, 4× rear), the compact metal chassis also offers an above-average number of options for peripheral devices.

Triple display and industrial interfaces

Whether for digital signage, wayfinding or complex machine control: the DL40N drives up to three independent displays simultaneously (HDMI 2.0b, DisplayPort 1.4a and VGA). Of particular relevance to industry are the two serial COM ports (RS-232/422/485), which also offer a switchable auxiliary voltage (5 V/12 V).

Optimised for 24/7 operation

The DL40N is officially approved for continuous operation (24/7). Maximum reliability is ensured by a special hardware solution for "Power-On-after-Power-Fail" (via jumper), which guarantees that the system restarts immediately after a power failure under all circumstances. The device also demonstrates flexibility in terms of power supply, supporting both 12-volt and 19-volt systems.
