Why is there a delay on the SPDIF-out signal?
-
Issue: When a file is selected to play via SPDIF-out, it takes 0.5s before a sound begins playing. Thus the first 0.5s of a song is missed.
Fix: A beta driver has been developed to remove this issue. Please download the new audio driver file from the following link:

Will my Shuttle Mini-PC run stably with case off?
-
Due to the XPC’s small footprint design, the thermal dynamics are very different than that of a regular full-size PC. Whilst normal PCs may run cooler with the case off, the XPC has strikingly unique properties.
Our design team has carefully considered and tested the thermal properties of an open case XPC. Contrary to popular beliefs, the CPU, hard drive and mainboard temperatures are higher when the case is taken off of the XPC. Opening the case actually reduces the airflow through the case. The vents at the front of your XPC no longer take air in; therefore, the airflow around the PWM and MOSFET is significantly reduced.
We recommend leaving the aluminum case closed on the XPC when in operation. Not only will this improve the thermal dynamics of your XPC, it looks stunning as well! -
What size of VGA card fits in XPC?
-
There are three serial products of XPC: G, P/P2, and H series.
G series
The greatest card size that could fit in G series of XPC is 206mm(L) x 98mm(H) x 16mm(D). But due to the different layout design on each model and VGA card, we strong suggest to check on VGA support list for each model or hard fit before purchase the VGA card.

P/P2 series
The greatest card size that could fit in P/P2 series of XPC is 266mm(L) x 98mm(H) x 36mm(D). But due to the different layout design on each model and VGA card, we strong suggest to check on VGA support list for each model or hard fit before purchase the VGA card.
Note: For P series that equipped with fan duct, please remove fan duct to use with long length VGA card. Complete burn-in tests had been done without fan duct and thermal performance will not be compromised without fan duct.
H series
The greatest card size that could fit in H series of XPC is 230mm(L) x 98mm(H) x 18mm(D).

What dimension of DDR2/DDR3 memory module can fit into XPC?
-
There are four product series of XPC, and the max. dimension of memory for each series is:
- G Series: (For all DDR2 or DDR3 G chassis models)

- H Series: (For all DDR2 or DDR3 H chassis models)

- P2 Series: (For SP35P2, SP35P2 pro, SX38P2 pro, SX48P2E, SX48P2 Deluxe)

- KPC Series: (For K45 and K48)

- G Series: (For all DDR2 or DDR3 G chassis models)

Can I upgrade my motherboard to a different one?
-
Shuttle doesn’t recommend upgrading to a different MB as it could create hardware issues. There is only one model that would have an upgrade option and that is SN68PTG6 Deluxe which you could upgrade to motherboard FN78.

Auto Reboot and no POST screen after changing video card.
-
Problem: After changing the video card which is known functional and in the compatibility list, the POST screen no longer displays while power cycles in on and off behavior.
Solution: In some cases, video card is situated on top of the system BIOS chip. During the removal of video card, the I/O shield of video card might have accidentally hit the BIOS chip which, in result, caused the BIOS chip loosened from its housing. Please double check the sitting of BIOS chip before seeking for further troubleshooting.
Please see attachment for graphical instruction. -
